Cristiano Ronaldo has once again topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid footballers for the 2025-26 season, marking his sixth time in the past decade to achieve this feat. The Portuguese superstar is projected to earn an astounding $280 million (Dh1 billion) before taxes, combining on-field earnings with lucrative off-field endorsements from global brands like Nike, Binance, and Herbalife. Ronaldo’s salary from his Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr alone is estimated at $230 million.

This impressive income places him well ahead of his closest rival, Lionel Messi, who is expected to earn $130 million primarily from endorsements and his club Inter Miami. Together, the top ten highest-paid footballers are set to collectively earn about $945 million this season.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to deliver exceptional performances while maintaining immense commercial appeal. Beyond football, he boasts the unprecedented social media milestone of 500 million followers across major platforms, boosting his brand value. In Dubai, Ronaldo is widely known for his two acclaimed restaurants—Tatel Dubai and TOTÓ Dubai—further diversifying his income streams.

Ronaldo’s dominance in earnings underscores his lasting influence both on the pitch and in global sport business, showcasing a blend of athletic excellence and strong marketability unmatched in modern football.
