The truck had halted due to a mechanical failure, creating a hazard on the busy highway. Emergency teams rushed the injured rider to the hospital for treatment.

Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of Dubai Police’s General Department of Traffic, confirmed that accident investigators were dispatched immediately to determine the cause. Traffic patrols secured the scene to enable rescue operations and swiftly cleared the damaged truck to restore traffic flow.

Dubai Police reminded motorists about the dangers of stopping in the middle of roads due to breakdowns or fuel issues. Drivers are urged to maintain vehicle roadworthiness through regular checks and to follow safety protocols if breakdowns occur.

According to Article 98 of the UAE Traffic Law, illegal stopping can incur a Dh1,000 fine, six black points, and an additional Dh500 penalty if traffic is obstructed. Brigadier bin Suwaidan highlighted that stopping on busy roads is one of the most dangerous offenses, frequently leading to serious or fatal accidents.

Drivers facing vehicle breakdowns are advised to immediately contact police for assistance, activate hazard lights, place warning triangles if possible, and move passengers to safety off the road rather than waiting inside the vehicle to reduce the risk of further collisions.
