In a landmark event for UAE football, the shirt and match ball worn by Al Ain’s Togolese striker Kodjo Laba during his record-breaking hat-trick against Khor Fakkan have been sold for a combined total of Dh1.13 million.
The auction, organized by the UAE Pro League, witnessed unprecedented bids as Laba’s match-worn shirt was sold for Dh1 million, while the ball used to score his historic goals fetched Dh133,500. These items were part of a charity auction aimed at supporting community initiatives.
Kodjo Laba’s remarkable performance against Khor Fakkan not only secured a hat-trick but also propelled him to become Al Ain’s all-time top scorer in the UAE Pro League with 125 goals. This achievement has solidified his legacy at the club, known as “The Boss.”
