UAE National Day holiday 2025

As per the UAE Cabinet’s 2025 holiday calendar, the only remaining public holidays for the year are for UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad), set for December 2 and 3. While those are fixed, there’s speculation that the government might extend the holiday period by including Monday, December 1, effectively creating a five-day break beginning Friday, November 28.

Under Cabinet Resolution No. (27) of 2024, the UAE has the authority to shift public holidays—excluding Eid days—to align with the beginning or end of the workweek. This flexibility opens the possibility that National Day in 2025 could be extended. Last year, when National Day fell on a Monday and Tuesday, the holiday turned into a four-day stretch due to the weekend.

Whether 2025 will bring a longer break remains uncertain until the official announcement. Many residents and businesses are keeping an eye out, hoping for that extra day off to turn National Day into a true long weekend.
