Dubai airport 3D baggage scanners are set to revolutionize passenger security by allowing travelers to keep laptops, tablets, and liquids inside bags at checkpoints. The world’s busiest international hub began installing these advanced scanners at Terminal 3, with full deployment across all terminals targeted for completion by May 2026.
Powered by AI and high-resolution 3D imaging, the scanners efficiently detect threats and eliminate the need for manual bag unpacking, significantly reducing waiting times and enhancing security. Dubai Airports officials highlighted that the phased rollout will replace over 140 screening machines and transform checkpoint throughput for millions of passengers annually.
Besides high-speed screening, Dubai International is introducing smart biometric corridors for frictionless passport control and deploying predictive AI for passenger flows, aiming to deliver a seamless travel experience as annual traffic nears 96 million travelers. These innovations position Dubai as a global leader in airport efficiency and passenger convenience.
