Emirates has unveiled a state-of-the-art $8 million, Emirates 7-star hospitality centre Dubai, a unique culinary and service training hub where the airline’s signature ‘7-star’ in-flight hospitality is perfected. Gulf News was among the first international media to experience this exclusive training centre, located within the Emirates Crew Training Centre in Al Garhoud.

Designed to train 25,000 cabin crew members annually, the centre seamlessly combines fine dining techniques with aviation service excellence. Crew members learn to set tables with premium crockery and plating gourmet desserts, honing skills that translate to memorable customer experiences at 40,000 feet. The centre builds on Emirates’ 2020 partnership with Switzerland’s world-renowned Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, delivering Michelin-inspired training focused on elegant fine dining, guest engagement, and personalised service.

The centre features eight tech-equipped classrooms, a restaurant-style lounge for 170 guests, elegant presentation kitchens, and breakout areas. Recruits from over 140 countries, speaking 70+ languages, undergo an eight-week initial training and subsequent specialised courses before advancing to leadership roles such as Purser.

The training includes immersive fine dining experiences where crew dines as guests before serving, learning not just plating techniques but emotional intelligence and attentive guest care. This dual practical approach is complemented by a hidden Emirates A350 aircraft simulator where crew practise meal service and passenger engagement in a realistic cabin environment.

Specialised courses like the L’art du Vin programme teach wine appreciation and beverage pairings, including sustainable caviar service with traditional and vegan options. Trainers emphasise gold-standard etiquette down to cutlery placement and décor, reflecting Emirates’ luxury ethos.

Emirates senior leaders emphasize that this hospitality centre is core to delivering the airline’s promise of excellence, innovation, passion, and personalised connection. Crew members consistently refresh their skills to stay aligned with evolving global hospitality trends, ensuring Emirates remains a world leader in luxury in-flight service.
