After 17 years of silent struggle caring for her son with epilepsy, Sharjah-based behaviour therapist Vineetha Shibu Kumar’s prayers were answered when she won Dh100,000 through the Dear Big Ticket initiative. Her son, who requires round-the-clock care and dreams of studying psychology and criminology, now has much-needed financial support to pursue higher education.
Vineetha shared the heartbreak of living with constant worry, unable to send her son abroad for studies due to his medical needs. “We thought of sending him back to India, but he can’t be alone or in a hostel. Someone must always be with him,” she said emotionally.
Encouraged by her husband, Vineetha applied for the Educational Support category of the Dear Big Ticket raffle with hope but little expectation. Weeks later, the announcement of her win brought tears of joy and relief. She expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for her, finally seeing a step closer to her son’s dreams becoming reality.
Show hosts Richard and Bouchra joined Vineetha in celebrating the life-changing win, highlighting the Big Ticket’s role in transforming lives across the UAE through generous prize initiatives.
