Oman Visa on Arrival & eVisa Guide

UAE residents planning a trip to Oman in 2025 can enjoy a streamlined visa process, provided their occupation is officially recognized by Omani authorities. Eligible residents may obtain an Oman visa either upon arrival at major airports or land borders, or by applying for a GCC Resident eVisa online through the Royal Oman Police portal. Both visa options are unsponsored and valid for 28 days, with a fee of OMR 5 (approximately AED 47.76). However, the visa is only issued if the applicant’s Emirates ID reflects a profession included in Oman’s extensive approved list, which covers fields such as medicine, engineering, teaching, business, and various technical and managerial roles. If the specified occupation is not on the approved list, travelers must apply for a sponsored visa through a travel agency, the Oman Embassy, or seek sponsorship from a resident family member.

At the point of entry—whether the Muscat International Airport or a land border—a valid passport with six months of remaining validity and the Emirates ID must be presented, along with the visa fee and a mandatory UAE exit fee of AED 35 when driving. To apply online for an eVisa, residents need to register at evisa.rop.gov.om, select the 29A GCC Resident Visa category, fill in personal and travel details, upload necessary documents such as their UAE residence visa, Emirates ID, passport, and a photograph, then wait for approval and payment instructions. Applicants typically receive their visa decision within four to five working days. By following these regulations and ensuring all documentation is in order, UAE residents can enjoy a hassle-free journey to Oman and stay for up to 28 days, taking advantage of both the visa on arrival and the convenient online eVisa process.
