On October 7, 2025, a blast occurred on the railway track near Sultan Kot in Shikarpur district, Sindh, causing four bogies of the Jaffar Express to derail. The explosion took place around 8:15 AM, approximately one kilometer from the Sultan Kot railway station. Seven passengers sustained injuries; four were transported to the Combined Military Hospital, while the remaining three were admitted to Civil Hospital in Shikarpur.

Following the incident, railway authorities dispatched a crane to re-rail the derailed bogies, and passengers were transferred to nearby stations to facilitate track repairs.
Shikarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Shahzeb Chachar confirmed that the remaining bogies continued their journey towards Jacobabad. Local police forces from Shikarpur and Jacobabad have initiated an investigation to identify those responsible for the attack.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the incident and directed the provincial police chief to provide a detailed report. He also instructed the Larkana commissioner to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured passengers.
