Sharjah Investment Forum 2025

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi highlights Sharjah’s investment credibility at the Sharjah Investment Forum 2025, stressing that long-term capital follows markets with clarity, governance, and strong institutions—not merely incentives. She noted Sharjah’s focused approach on developing robust infrastructure, regulatory predictability, and institutional strength before courting foreign investment.

This strategic focus has resulted in a 57% increase in foreign direct investment projects in H1 2025 compared to the previous year, with capital inflows reaching $1.5 billion. Job creation surged with over 2,500 new positions, particularly in business services, consumer products, and food and beverage sectors.

At the core of Sharjah’s innovation framework is the triple-helix model connecting universities, research parks, and entrepreneurship hubs, exemplified by partnerships among the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, the American University of Sharjah, and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa). These institutions provide a seamless pipeline turning academic excellence into entrepreneurial success.

Sheikha Bodour also highlighted supportive free zones, intellectual property frameworks, and investor protections as key to Sharjah’s appeal. Citing international studies by the IMF and World Bank, she stressed that investment in human capital, governance, and innovation drives superior investment outcomes.

The emirate’s governance approach balances market growth with enhanced public services, ensuring a dynamic yet socially grounded economy aligned with the broader UAE model defined by clear law, cultural vibrancy, and visionary leadership.

Sheikha Bodour concluded by affirming Sharjah’s commitment to disciplined investment and purposeful growth: “We believe when our people build first, partners fund.”
