A 21-year-old Indian national has been arrested following a devastating crash on California’s Interstate 10 that claimed the lives of three people and injured several others.

Authorities identified the driver as Jashanpreet Singh, who was operating a large truck when it collided with slow-moving traffic, triggering a massive fireball that engulfed multiple vehicles.

Investigators allege that Singh was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. Toxicology tests reportedly confirmed signs of impairment, leading to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Officials also revealed that Singh had entered the United States without legal authorization in 2022 and was released under a federal supervision program while awaiting immigration hearings.

The tragedy has reignited discussions about road safety, trucking regulations, and stricter oversight of commercial drivers, especially those operating without valid immigration or work documentation.
