The Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial and Administrative Claims ruled in favor of the woman after her complaint of indecent and offensive remarks led to the man’s conviction in a related criminal case.​

According to court documents, the woman sought Dh51,000 in damages and legal expenses for the distress and psychological pain suffered. The court found the defendant’s use of obscene language and behavior clearly proven and directly linked to the emotional harm endured by the victim.

In its detailed ruling, the court stressed that UAE law mandates compensation for any act causing harm—including material or moral damage. The judge concluded there was a direct causal relationship between the misconduct and the resulting harm, and awarded the woman Dh15,000 as full compensation for her suffering.
