Sharjah lease registration fee exemption for unregistered contracts signed before 2024 aim to facilitate property leasing compliance for tenants across all lease types, including residential, commercial, industrial, and investment. The Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, authorised a 50% waiver on overdue registration fees and full exemption from administrative fines for leases that concluded or expired before September 19, 2024.
The exemptions will be effective from November 1 through December 31, 2025, aligning with Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to streamline regulatory compliance and support tenants in securing their rental agreements legally. This initiative follows the enforcement of Law No. (5) of 2024 regulating property leasing in Sharjah.
Tenants are encouraged to register their contracts within the exemption period to benefit from the fee reductions and avoid penalties, enhancing transparency and legal protection in the Sharjah rental market.
