DP World and Cars24 have partnered to build a Dh55 million ($15 million) automotive refurbishment centre in Dubai’s National Industries Park (NIP). The 220,000 sq. ft. solar-powered facility will create over 200 jobs and process more than 100,000 vehicles each year. Construction begins November 2025 with operations slated for August 2026.

The state-of-the-art hub will serve the growing electric vehicle and Chinese OEM markets with multi-brand refurbishment, pre-delivery inspections, after-sales services, and export preparation. Each vehicle undergoes over 140 inspection points alongside Dubai RTA certification and a MoIAT 5-Star quality rating to ensure safety and performance. Extending vehicle lifespans, especially for EVs, will contribute to emissions reductions.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks & Zones at DP World GCC, highlighted the project’s role in cementing Dubai’s status as the region’s automotive hub. With the Middle East and Africa used car market valued above $100 billion in 2024 and expected to grow nearly 5% annually through 2030, the hub will fortify supply chains connecting global manufacturers and regional distributors.

Cars24, an online used car marketplace valued at over $3 billion, sees the new facility as setting new standards in speed, reliability, and sustainability, offering direct access to GCC and international markets. This development complements DP World’s expanding automotive cluster in NIP and Jebel Ali Free Zone and supports Dubai’s broader automotive hub strategy, including the world’s largest car market initiative launched in 2024.
