4,000 Events & 22 Countries Join Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025-26

The celebrated Sheikh Zayed Festival has officially kicked off in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, under the welcoming theme “Hayyakum” (meaning “Welcome”).

The celebrated Sheikh Zayed Festival has officially kicked off in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, under the welcoming theme “Hayyakum” (meaning “Welcome”). The festival, which is set to continue until March 22 2026, brings together more than 4,000 events and 750 large-scale public activities with participation from over 20,000 exhibitors and performers representing 22 countries.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and supervised by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, the festival is positioned as a premier cultural and heritage platform. It celebrates diversity, unity and the humanitarian values of the UAE while offering visitors immersive experiences of Emirati traditions.

Festival Highlights

  • Global engagement & heritage pavilions: This edition features cultural pavilions from 22 countries, each presenting unique traditions through exhibitions, performances and crafts.

  • Traditional competitions & displays: Attendees can enjoy heritage-sporting events including dhow sailing races, falconry contests and the Zayed Grand Camel Race.

  • Entertainment & family zones: The festival introduces new zones like Al Wathba Boulevard with restaurants and cafés, “Winterland” amusement area, and live music concerts every weekend.

  • Heritage village & Emirati identity: A dedicated Heritage Village offers visitors a glimpse into traditional Emirati life, featuring souqs, folk-dance groups and culinary demonstrations.

  • New Year’s Eve spectacle: Celebrations will include a fireworks and laser show choreographed with over 6,000 drones, alongside live performances and water-light shows.

Practical Details

The festival opens daily from 4 p.m. to midnight, and stays open until 1 a.m. on weekends and public holidays.
