Viksit Bharat Run Dubai 2,000 Indian Expats Unite

More than 2,000 Indian expatriates gathered at 7 a.m. in Dubai to participate in the Viksit Bharat Run, symbolically celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday and reaffirming their commitment to the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Organized by the Consulate General of India, Indian People’s Forum (IPF), and JITO, the event became one of the largest diaspora community runs globally.

The gathering commenced with a collective pledge led by Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, emphasizing the ideals of national development, unity, and service. Attendees—young and old—recited the pledge in unison, reflecting their shared dedication to the future of India. The run in Dubai was part of a broader series held across more than 150 locations in 91 countries between September 17 and October 2, under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation.”

Jitendra Vaidya, President of IPF, highlighted that this edition in Dubai stood out as the largest global gathering, underlining the unity and patriotic spirit within the Indian diaspora in the UAE. Community volunteers, some arriving early in the morning, played essential roles in ensuring smooth operations throughout the event.

In Abu Dhabi, a parallel run took place at the Abu Dhabi Indian School, where around 150 participants joined the celebrations. The dual events echoed a common message: that distance cannot diminish a community’s pride, enthusiasm, or connection to its homeland.
