Liverpool faced a 1–0 loss to Galatasaray in the Champions League, with Victor Osimhen converting a penalty in the 16th minute. This marks their second consecutive defeat, following a Premier League loss to Crystal Palace. Despite a late penalty appeal from Ibrahima Konaté, the referee overturned the decision after review. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker also sustained an injury during the match.
In contrast, Chelsea secured a 1–0 victory against José Mourinho’s Benfica. Richard Ríos inadvertently scored an own goal from an Alejandro Garnacho cross in the 18th minute, which proved to be the match-winner. Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge, where he previously managed Chelsea, but was unable to guide Benfica to a positive result.
