UAE golfers Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship participation hits a milestone as a record five players represent the nation in the prestigious 16th edition, scheduled from October 23-26 on the iconic Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

The UAE’s squad, including Ahmad Skaik, Rayan Ahmad, Abdulla Kalbat, Jonathan Selvaraj, and Sam Mullane, surpasses the previous national record of four participants and signals the country’s growing prominence on the global amateur golf stage. This marks only the second time the championship returns to the Emirates following its 2021 staging at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Ahmad Skaik, a seasoned 28-year-old amateur preparing to turn professional, will make his sixth and final AAC appearance. Skaik has made history earlier this year as the first Emirati to make the cut in a European Tour event, underscoring his elite credentials. Skaik described the tournament as pivotal in his development and looks forward to closing his amateur chapter on home soil with a standout performance.

Rayan Ahmad and Abdulla Kalbat, 18, return after promising debuts in Japan in 2024, with Ahmad notably making the cut at his first attempt.

Established in 2009 by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, The R&A, and the Masters Tournament, the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship offers coveted invitations to major professional tournaments, including the Masters and the Open, making it a critical platform for rising golf talents.
