Managing Salik fines in Dubai requires attention to detail — many drivers get caught off guard due to missed notifications or outdated contact details. When your Salik account balance drops too low, an SMS alert is sent to the number registered with your Salik account. However, if your contact number has changed and hasn’t been updated, you might never receive the alert — which could lead to fines.
1. RTA Dubai App
Open the app, navigate to Services → Salik section → Violations, and enter your vehicle plate number. Any active fines linked to your vehicle will appear there, and you can pay them directly using your debit or credit card.
2. Dubai Police App
Within the Dubai Police app, go to “Pay Traffic Fines”, then select “Ticket” and choose “Salik.” Enter the year and ticket number to view and pay pending fines instantly.
3. Salik Website
Visit salik.ae, click on “Salik Services” → “Violations,” and enter your plate number. You can view all outstanding fines and make payments online securely.
Insufficient Funds (ISF) — AED 50
If your Salik balance is insufficient when passing a toll gate, and you fail to top up within five working days, you’ll be fined AED 50. Only one such violation is applied per day per vehicle.
Unregistered Plate (URP) — Up to AED 400
If your vehicle doesn’t have a Salik tag and you pass through a toll gate, you must register and activate one within ten working days. Fines escalate as follows:
AED 100 for the first offence
AED 200 for the second offence
AED 400 for each subsequent offence
Only one violation per day per vehicle is applied.
Always keep your Salik account balance topped up to prevent insufficient funds.
Update your registered mobile number to receive low-balance alerts.
Check your account regularly through the RTA or Salik apps to catch any violations early.
If you believe a fine was issued in error, contact Salik support to dispute it within the allowed timeframe.
By staying proactive and regularly checking your account, you can easily manage and avoid unnecessary Salik fines in Dubai.
