UAE rain prayer October 17 will be observed across the country following a directive by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The prayer, known in Arabic as Salaat Al Istisqaa, will be held in all mosques nationwide on Friday, October 17, half an hour before the usual Friday prayer.

The President urged everyone to join in praying to Allah Almighty to bless the UAE with rain and mercy, following the Sunnah (tradition) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The collective prayer highlights the nation’s spiritual unity and gratitude, aligning with longstanding Islamic tradition of invoking divine blessings during times of dry weather.

Conducted across all emirates, the prayer will be led under the guidance of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf) and local religious authorities, ensuring participation from all communities in a shared act of faith and hope.

Residents and worshippers are encouraged to attend early, reflecting on the significance of Salaat Al Istisqaa — a practice deeply rooted in humility, dependence on divine mercy, and communal solidarity.
