Millions across homes, offices, and schools in the UAE still rely on Windows 10, but post-October 14, users risk exposure to cyber threats without continued updates.
While your PC will continue to function, vulnerabilities increase as new security risks emerge without patches. Some Windows 10 components like Microsoft Edge and Office 365 apps will receive updates for a few more years, but the OS itself will no longer evolve.
Microsoft urges users to upgrade to Windows 11 for improved security, new features, and AI readiness. Device compatibility can be checked using the PC Health Check app. Free upgrade paths are available for many qualifying devices.
For those unable to upgrade immediately, Microsoft offers Extended Security Updates (ESU), a paid program continuing critical patches for up to three years, ideal for enterprises or users needing transition time.
