Emirates Starlink WiFi rollout goes live with free in‑flight internet

Emirates is launching a major upgrade to its onboard connectivity by installing Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft. The rollout kicks off with its first Boeing 777 flight on 23 November 2025 and is expected to complete by mid‑2027.

This service will be free for all passengers, regardless of class, with a simple one-click login — no payment or frequent-flyer membership required. Once fully deployed, the high-speed satellite internet will allow travellers to stream, game, make video calls, work, and browse social media at cruising altitude, just like they do on the ground.

To ensure maximum coverage, each 777 will have two Starlink antennae, while every A380 will be fitted with three — an industry first. This advanced setup is part of Emirates’ broader cabin refurbishment program, which also includes refreshed interiors for all classes and upgraded entertainment systems.

The airline says the move reinforces its commitment to improving the flying experience, enabling seamless productivity and real-time connectivity. According to Emirates’ leadership, this is a pivotal moment in its effort to bring “ground-quality internet” to the skies.

Starlink will also power live TV on board, initially on passengers’ personal devices, with plans to extend to seatback screens from December 2025.
