UAE Japan Falconry Programme 2026 launches its third edition tomorrow in Al Ain, organized by Emirates Falconers’ Club with INPEX–JODCO Foundation. Running until January 8 under the theme “Building Heritage Bridges through Falcons,” the cultural exchange unites Emirati and Japanese falconers, students, and conservation experts in Remah desert camp near Telal Al Ain Resort.

The programme showcases falconry as a universal language transcending borders, rooted in sustainability and heritage preservation.

UAE Japan Falconry Programme 2026: Leadership and Cultural Significance

Majed Ali Al Mansouri, Emirates Falconers’ Club Secretary General, credits UAE leadership‘s support for recognizing falconry’s role in civilisational ties. “Falconry represents mutual respect for nature and knowledge transfer across generations,” he said.

UNESCO’s inscription of falconry as Intangible Cultural Heritage—led by UAE with 11 nations—marks its highest global recognition.

Hands-On Activities in UAE Japan Falconry Programme 2026

Theoretical & Practical Schedule:

  • Falcon species introductions (traditional Arab falconry)

  • Tilwah (lure) training sessions

  • Maqnas hunting trips (houbara bustards, desert rabbits) with falcons and Saluki dogs

  • Desert fieldcraft and tracking

  • Traditional handicraft workshops

  • Cultural majlis: Al Sanaa customs, Arabic coffee, maqnas storytelling, cooking

Education and Sustainability Focus of UAE Japan Falconry Programme

Participants from Mohammed bin Zayed Falconry School, Sheikh Zayed Private Academy, and Japanese falconry students gain veterinary training, falcon health check-ups, and clinic visits. The programme instils ethical falconry, environmental respect, and wildlife conservation.

Building on UAE Japan Falconry Programme 2026 Success

  • 2024: First edition, Al Ain

  • 2025: Second edition, Ichihara City, Japan (under Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed patronage)

  • 2026: Third edition returns to Al Ain, reinforcing bilateral heritage ties
