Abu Dhabi rental assistance for newlyweds program has been launched by the Department of Community Development (DCD) and the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority to support newly married Emirati couples with up to Dh75,000 annually for rental costs. This benefit, part of the Emirati Family Growth Program, is renewable annually for a maximum of four years based on the applicant’s status for permanent housing support with the Authority.
To qualify, beneficiaries must be Emirati men married to Emirati women (with humanitarian exceptions), enrolled in the Madeem program, and meet specific income and housing application criteria. Key eligibility conditions include a monthly income below Dh50,000, completion of premarital preparation sessions, and residence within approved Abu Dhabi properties. The wedding must follow the Madeem women’s wedding model.
Rental assistance amounts vary by income: Dh75,000 annually for incomes under Dh20,000, down to Dh30,000 for incomes up to Dh50,000. Applicants must not own real estate and must submit tenancy contracts or price quotes for reimbursement. The program integrates comprehensive family counselling, premarital education, and a benefits card offering discounts across public and private sectors.
The Madeem program aims to foster social stability, family wellbeing, and sustainable housing solutions for Emirati couples, reinforcing community development and prosperity.
