Dubai drone delivery 2030 plans mark an ambitious leap towards transforming the emirate’s transport landscape, with 70% of the city expected to be drone-powered within five years. Building on phase one launched in December 2024 in Dubai Silicon Oasis, featuring China’s Keeta Drone technology, the initiative has already established safety protocols, airspace routes, and landing zones for commercial drone deliveries of food, medicine, and essentials.

Director-General Lengawi highlighted that by 2026, at least 30% of Dubai will be serviced by electric drone devices, with the goal extending to 70% coverage by 2030. The Dubai Programme to Enable Drone Transportation, launched in 2021, governs the framework for the testing, regulation, and deployment of these drone services.

Phase two of the drone delivery system is set to launch before the Dubai Airshow 2025, promising further expansion though specific details remain under wraps. Keeta Drone, licensed by Dubai Civil Aviation Authority last year, is exploring wider applications including emergency medical deliveries in partnership with local hospitals.

Safety has been paramount, with extensive multi-year testing ensuring the system’s security and reliability. Lengawi assured that the comprehensive regulatory framework supports the evolving ecosystem of urban air mobility.

Complementing delivery drones, Dubai is preparing to introduce air taxi services by 2026, supported by established regulations for eVTOL aircraft. While integrating drones, eVTOLs, and existing commercial flights presents challenges, ongoing experiments are progressing towards a fully operational urban air mobility network.

Dubai’s drone delivery and air taxi vision reinforce its position as a global smart mobility pioneer, leveraging cutting-edge technology to reduce congestion and reshape urban transport.
