The fire started around 2:15 pm and prompted an immediate response involving 28 fire units from the airport’s fire department, the Bangladesh Air Force, and other relevant agencies, with more units arriving. Coordination among the Civil Aviation Authority, fire service, and Air Force units is ongoing to control the blaze.
Cargo damage is currently being assessed, with significant impact reported in areas storing international courier goods and a nearby chemical warehouse. The extent of the damage remains under evaluation as firefighting efforts continue.
