Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), has congratulated the UAE national cricket team on qualifying for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The qualification was secured with an emphatic eight-wicket win over Japan in the Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier held in Muscat. This will be the UAE’s third appearance in the global tournament, joining the 2014 and 2022 editions.

Sheikh Nahyan praised the team for their discipline and determination, highlighting that this achievement reflects the UAE’s growing strength in international cricket and sports excellence fostered by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision. The ECB plans to invest further in training facilities and international exposure to prepare the team for the tournament in India and Sri Lanka.
