He died at his home in Seoul, South Korea, on October 4, with the news confirmed by his bandmate Kim Hyun-soo on social media on October 10. Kim expressed his grief, stating, “Farewell, my friend. Let’s sing again when we meet in heaven.”
Born in 1980, Jang began his musical journey in 1997 as a member of the group Kid. In 2002, he joined F-IV, alongside Seo Ji-won and Woo Jung-tae. The group quickly gained popularity with hits such as “Girl,” “I’m Sorry,” and “Ring,” and was honored with the Best New Artist award at the KMTV Korean Music Awards in 2003.
Beyond his music career, Jang diversified his professional endeavors. In 2016, he appeared on the variety show Two Yoo Project Sugar Man, where he revealed that he had transitioned into a career as a freelance investment consultant. This revelation delighted fans, showcasing his versatility and adaptability.
