On October 2, 2025, a violent incident unfolded outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Manchester, during Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar. According to Greater Manchester Police, a car was driven at pedestrians, and a man was stabbed. Officers responded swiftly, and the suspect was shot by police at the scene.
