Piyush Pandey, the legendary Indian advertising professional, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 70. He was instrumental in reshaping Indian advertising with campaigns that resonated deeply with the nation’s culture and emotions. Pandey’s work included iconic advertisements such as Fevicol’s “Fevicol ka jod, tutee nahi,” Cadbury Dairy Milk’s “Kuch Khaas Hai,” and the BJP’s 2014 slogan “Ab Ki Baar, Modi Sarkar”.
A recipient of the Padma Shri in 2016 and the LIA Legend Award in 2024, Pandey’s influence extended beyond advertising. He collaborated with celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and MS Dhoni, and his campaigns played a significant role in public health initiatives, including the polio vaccination drive.
Pandey’s death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from across India, including from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who acknowledged his “monumental contribution” to the world of advertising.
