At just seven months into her pregnancy, Delhi Police constable Sonika Yadav stunned the nation by lifting an astonishing 145 kg at the All India Police Weightlifting Cluster 2025-26 in Andhra Pradesh, securing the bronze medal and proving that motherhood need not slow down ambition.

The feat isn’t limited to the deadlift: she also registered lifts of 125 kg in the squat and 80 kg in the bench press. With rigorous medical supervision and a determined mindset, she told reporters she refused to let pregnancy become a setback.

A 2014-batch officer currently posted with the Community Policing Cell, Yadav concealed her condition at the event, wearing loose clothing so no one would anticipate the magnitude of her achievement.
