Sharjah is in mourning following the death of Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi death, a prominent member of the Sharjah royal family. His passing on Monday, September 22, 2025, was officially announced by the Office of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Funeral prayers for Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the King Faisal Mosque in Sharjah. Following the prayers, the burial will take place at Al Jubail Cemetery. Condolences will be received at the majlis of Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi in the Al Ramla district, starting from Tuesday and continuing for three days.
The Sharjah government has declared an official three-day mourning period beginning Tuesday, during which flags will be flown at half-mast across the emirate. The Ruler’s Court extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and the wider Al Qasimi family, praying for Allah’s mercy and granting patience to the bereaved.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi was a respected figure within the Sharjah royal family and played an important role in the emirate’s affairs. His passing marks a significant moment for Sharjah, which continues to uphold the values and leadership of its royal family.
