A devastating Turkey perfume factory fire in the north-western province of Kocaeli has left six workers dead and several others injured. The blaze broke out early Saturday in a perfume-storage depot located in the Dilovası industrial zone, an area densely packed with warehouses handling flammable materials.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple explosions before flames engulfed the two-storey structure. Firefighters and emergency responders battled the inferno for more than an hour before bringing it under control. Officials confirmed that the victims were employees working the early shift when the fire erupted.

Governor İlhami Aktaş stated that one person remains in critical condition while others are being treated for smoke inhalation. Authorities have opened a full investigation and issued detention warrants for three people linked to the warehouse’s management. Early findings suggest improper storage of chemical products may have contributed to the disaster.
