In a move to strengthen the emirate’s business community, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has directed a Two-Year Commercial Licence fees exemption for select businesses affected by ongoing infrastructure developments in the Al Riffa and Al Jazeera Al Hamra areas.
The initiative underscores Sheikh Saud’s long-standing commitment to empowering business owners and ensuring operational continuity despite temporary disruptions caused by development projects. It also reflects the government’s proactive approach toward easing economic pressure on small enterprises, while fostering a sustainable and competitive environment that enhances Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a regional hub for investment and commerce.
According to the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED), the exemption aligns with the leadership’s vision to stimulate economic confidence, boost investor morale, and encourage long-term growth across the emirate. The initiative will directly benefit dozens of entrepreneurs and SMEs experiencing temporary access limitations or reduced footfall due to infrastructure upgrades.
By introducing this exemption, Ras Al Khaimah reinforces its commitment to supporting private-sector resilience and adaptability. It is also part of a broader push to enhance ease of doing business and promote sustainable development, building on RAK’s reputation for transparent governance, investor-friendly policies, and smart urban planning.
