Defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, the European Ryder Cup star, will return to the Emirates Golf Club to defend his Hero Dubai Desert Classic title from January 22 to 25, 2026. The 33-year-old English golfer will make his 11th appearance at the event, joining fellow superstar and reigning Masters Champion Rory McIlroy in what promises to be a world-class Rolex Series event.

Hatton played a pivotal role in Europe’s recent Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage Black by securing the crucial half-point alongside McIlroy that gave Europe a 15-13 win, its first away win since 2012. Earlier in 2025, Hatton claimed the iconic Dallah Trophy in Dubai with a narrow one-stroke victory, marking his second Rolex Series title and eighth DP World Tour win.

“I’m delighted to be returning to Emirates Golf Club to defend my title,” Hatton said. “The course suits my game well, and last year’s win was incredibly special. I’m eager to contend again and build on a fantastic season.”

Simon Corkill, Executive Tournament Director, said, “Tyrrell’s return highlights the prestige of the Classic. With Ryder Cup heroes, Masters champions, and rising stars, the 2026 edition promises to be spectacular, both on and off the course.”
