In a landmark move to accelerate AI adoption and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global investment hub, the Ministry of Investment of the UAE has partnered with Microsoft UAE to train 100,000 government professionals across federal and emirate-level bodies. This initiative was formally announced during GITEX Global 2025 under Microsoft’s AI National Skills Initiative, in alignment with the UAE’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031.

Upskilling for Investment & Economic Strategy

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), participants in the training program will gain role-specific AI capabilities focused on investment analysis, predictive forecasting, and data-driven policy making. The program is designed to support a data-first governance culture, enabling ministries and investment agencies to make faster, smarter decisions in a globally competitive landscape.

To ensure robust data practices, Microsoft will lead workshops and deploy its Azure Data Catalog and Azure Purview platforms to promote high standards in data governance, privacy, and security across participating bodies.

Strategic Significance for UAE

Mohammad Alhawi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Investment, stated that this collaboration significantly advances the UAE’s aims of becoming a world leader in AI by 2031. On the Microsoft side, Amr Kamel, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, emphasized their joint mission: “Combining Microsoft’s AI strengths with the UAE’s strategic vision will unlock transformative potential across sectors.”

By equipping the public sector with AI skills, the UAE aims to enhance its competitiveness in the global investment arena and foster innovation-led economic growth.
