UAE Kerala airfares surge 2025 is expected amid Air India Express’s winter schedule adjustments, though major flight disruptions from the UAE to Kerala are unlikely, Gulf News reveals. Ticket prices between Dh1,200 and Dh1,400 for December travel have already skyrocketed following media reports of flight cuts.
An airline source explains these schedule revisions reflect seasonal demand shifts—higher traffic to northern Indian destinations during winter, with Kerala flights rebounding in summer months aligned to school holidays and festivals like Onam. The winter schedule is due to be officially approved in mid-October by India’s aviation regulator DGCA.
Despite community outcry urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene, the UAE’s Kerala connectivity is expected to remain stable, though other GCC countries such as Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait may face temporary frequency cuts on Kerala routes.
Travel agents predict a bumper Kerala travel season this winter, with extended school holidays starting late November driving surging demand. However, capacity cuts amid steady demand have led to sharp fare increases. December return fares to Kerala now average Dh1,200–1,400, up from Dh800–900 in off-peak periods.
Smart Travels’ Safeer Mahmood says the Kerala diaspora’s steady growth fuels this surge, causing fares to rise about 40% this season. He warns reduced flight supply combined with high demand inevitably drives ticket prices higher.
Overall, while UAE-Kerala air connectivity remains robust, travellers should prepare for escalating fares through the winter months due to complex seasonal dynamics shaped by airline capacity and market demand.
