UAE private sector employment of Emirati women reached a record 107,000 by June 2025, representing 70% of all Emiratis in private jobs—a 530% surge since the launch of Nafis in September 2021. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) affirms this as proof of the nation’s commitment to empowering women, promoting workplace equality, and supporting youth career advancement. The total number of Emiratis in the private sector now exceeds 152,000—across 28,000 companies—a result of ongoing Emiratisation policies and government-backed incentives for both workers and organizations.

Emirati women show remarkable presence across high-value industries: they make up 98% of Emiratis in education, 90% in healthcare, and 61% in IT-related roles. Their workforce share grew 12% over the past year, with 71% of private-sector-employed Emirati women under age 35. Notably, 97% of Emirati women in private jobs hold skilled, professional, or technical roles, and women now account for more than half of leadership positions among Emirati private-sector staff.

The government’s Nafis program and supportive HR policies are helping drive these results, fostering gender equality, job satisfaction, and strong integration of women and youth within the UAE’s rapidly diversifying economy.
