The winter break will run from December 8, 2025, to January 4, 2026 for schools following the September-to-June academic calendar.
Students will resume classes on January 5, 2026, starting the second term.
Schools following the Indian curriculum typically start their winter break on December 15, 2025.

The Ministry has emphasized strict adherence to the approved calendar. Schools must complete first-term assessments and curriculum obligations during the week before the break to maintain academic continuity and prevent learning loss.
Alongside the extended winter vacation, schools will observe shorter mid-term breaks in October 2025 and February 2026. These breaks aim to reduce academic pressure and enhance student well-being while aligning with national holidays and community events.
