Vicente Modahl rape charges 2025 have shocked the athletics community as the former Olympic coach, and ex-husband of British runner Diane Modahl, faces multiple allegations of rape and sexual assault involving a child and an adult female. The 65-year-old Norwegian is charged with two counts of raping a child, five counts of sexually assaulting a child, and several other offences including causing a child to engage in sexual activity and assault by penetration, reported the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

These offences allegedly occurred between 2012 and 2024, targeting a single woman. Additionally, Modahl faces charges of controlling and coercive behaviour. Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor James Bolton-Smith confirmed sufficient evidence exists to bring the case to court, emphasizing the public interest in pursuing these proceedings.

Modahl is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court. His ex-wife Diane Modahl is a decorated athlete who won gold in the 800m at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and represented Britain at four Olympic Games, including reaching the 1988 Seoul final.
