India secured a comprehensive victory over West Indies by an innings and 140 runs on the third day of the first Test at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Declaring at 448–5, India took a commanding 286-run lead before bowling out West Indies for 146 in their second innings.
West Indies struggled initially, being dismissed for just 162 in their first innings, with India’s fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah taking seven wickets between them. India’s response was dominant with three centurions: KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104*). Jadeja also showcased aggressive batting hitting five sixes.
Spinner Ravindra Jadeja was the star with four wickets in the second innings, ensuring a swift conclusion to the match. India now leads the two-match series 1-0, setting the tone for a commanding home season.
