Al Ain Museum reopens UAE heritage- Gulf Repost

The Al Ain Museum, the UAE’s first museum established in 1969 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has reopened following a comprehensive redevelopment. The museum now spans over 8,000 square meters and offers an immersive experience that traces 300,000 years of the UAE’s heritage.

Visitors can explore artifacts from the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods, pre-Islamic and Islamic eras, and traditional heritage displays. Notably, the museum features the ancient aflaj irrigation systems, dating from 1000 BCE to 300 CE, which are still functional today.

The reopening ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, and other dignitaries.
