Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived in Abu Dhabi to engage with the Malayali expatriate community and promote investment opportunities in his home state. Welcomed by India’s Ambassador to the UAE and community leaders, the visit marks a strategic outreach effort ahead of upcoming Kerala local-body and assembly elections.
During his stay, CM Vijayan will attend the 25th anniversary celebrations of Kairali TV at Etihad Arena, where Malayalam film personalities and members of the diaspora are expected to participate. He will also be the chief guest at a reception organized by the Kerala Social Centre at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, aimed at strengthening cultural and business ties with the UAE Malayali community.
The UAE visit is the first leg of a larger Gulf tour, with a second leg scheduled in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in December. The itinerary combines cultural outreach, diaspora welfare, and business promotion, reflecting Kerala’s development goals and its efforts to maintain strong connections with its overseas population.
Officials highlighted that the visit also provides a platform to encourage investment in Kerala, support welfare initiatives for expatriates, and enhance Kerala’s visibility as an investment‑friendly destination in the Gulf. The CM’s interactions with the diaspora aim to reinforce community engagement and sustain Kerala’s global presence during a politically significant period.
