Abu Dhabi is intensifying efforts to eliminate abandoned vehicles and equipment with a comprehensive new awareness campaign titled ‘Our Home, Our Responsibility – Our Neighbourhoods, Our Identity.’ The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) aims to boost community involvement in reporting abandoned items and strengthen urban aesthetics by discouraging neglect in public spaces.
The campaign focuses on the negative impact of abandoned cars and boats on the urban environment and residents’ quality of life. It includes field tours, direct engagement with residents, and widespread distribution of educational materials via official social media channels and the ‘Fureejna’ app to maximize outreach.
The initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision to maintain its reputation as a clean, sustainable, and beautiful city by promoting shared responsibility between authorities and the community for public order, cleanliness, and environmental preservation.
