Abu Dhabi Police recover Dh140 million from online fraud cases in the last two years, returning the stolen funds to rightful owners while investigating 15,642 cybercrime incidents, highlighting the scale of digital threats the emirate faces.

Brigadier Rashid Khalaf Al Dhaheri, Director of the Criminal Investigations Department, and Colonel Saif Ali Al Jabri, Deputy Director of the Community Police Department, announced the “Be Careful” campaign during a press conference aimed at educating the public on emerging cybercrime threats.

The campaign supports the National Cybersecurity Strategy by providing an educational programme that raises awareness about nine common cyber fraud types: phone scams, fake links, dangerous remote software downloads, fraudulent deposits for premium numbers and vehicles, fake jobs, suspicious social media friend requests, misleading online ads, fraudulent property deals, and investment scams.
