Dubai Municipality announced that 90% of Dubai’s beaches and 80% of its public parks are now fully accessible to People of Determination, marking a major step in creating an inclusive, barrier-free city where everyone can live, move, and enjoy independently.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s vision for a sustainable, high-quality future with accessible tourism and public spaces built to international standards. The municipality will showcase these inclusive facilities and smart services at the 7th AccessAbilities Expo from October 6-8, 2025, at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Several beaches including Jumeirah Night Beach 2 and Al Mamzar Beach Park now feature specially tailored facilities such as dedicated swimming lanes, emergency evacuation systems with alerts for people with visual and hearing impairments, and mobility-friendly infrastructure.

Major public parks including Mushrif National Park, Creek Park, Zabeel Park, Safa Park, Mamzar Beach Park, and the Quranic Park have been retrofitted with wheelchair-accessible paths, Braille signage, adapted play equipment, sensory rooms for autistic visitors, accessible restrooms, dedicated parking, and staff trained in sign language.

Iconic landmarks like the Dubai Frame offer inclusive upgrades with tactile Braille handrails, voice-enabled assistance, wheelchair charging stations, and more, enhancing the experience for visitors with special needs.

Supporting technologies like the “Makani” interactive accessibility map and the “Dubai Safe” seismic alert app further reinforce Dubai’s leadership in urban inclusivity and safety.

These comprehensive efforts establish Dubai as a global model for accessibility, where inclusive design fosters equal opportunities and independent living for People of Determination.
