The much-anticipated Malayalam horror thriller Diés Iraé, directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Pranav Mohanlal, is officially based on true events, according to the film’s promotions.

The story revolves around a supernatural curse affecting a family, with the title — Latin for “Day of Wrath” — hinting at themes of judgment and retribution. While the exact real-life incident behind the plot remains undisclosed, the narrative draws inspiration from genuine experiences, adding an eerie authenticity to the film.
