Starting this winter, UAE travellers can enjoy new direct routes to Germany from Dubai and Abu Dhabi with Eurowings, the Lufthansa-owned low-cost European carrier. Weekly flights from Dubai World Central to Düsseldorf begin on December 13, while Abu Dhabi gains flights to Berlin starting November 3, each operating three times weekly. Fares start as low as Dh429 for economy, with premium business-class seating—dubbed Premium BIZ Seat—introduced at a fraction of traditional prices, beginning at Dh3,000 one-way.
The Premium BIZ Seat features a spacious 2×2 layout, adjustable backrests, generous legroom, and free middle seats, offering enhanced comfort typically found on long-haul business flights. The airline’s expansion taps growing demand among Gulf leisure travellers for affordable, quality European travel.
Eurowings now operates over 31 weekly flights between the UAE and five German cities on modern Airbus A320neo aircraft, maximizing convenience by eliminating layovers through direct flights. The airline plans to gather feedback on the premium seat experience before expanding further.
This strategic growth aligns with Europe’s rising competition for Gulf travelers and showcases Germany as a top destination for Christmas markets, city breaks, and winter holidays for UAE residents.
