For workers who prefer anonymity, MOHRE also offers a confidential option that keeps their identity hidden from employers.

In addition to the app, complaints can also be filed via the MOHRE website, the 80084 call centre, or at authorised service centres like Tasheel. In all cases, the process is free, and employees only need basic documentation such as a labour card, contract number, and details of their unpaid wages.

Once a case is submitted, MOHRE reviews the complaint and contacts both parties—usually within 14 days—to attempt an amicable settlement. Employers are instructed to address the issue promptly, and failure to comply may lead to penalties, restrictions on new work permits, or additional legal action. If the dispute involves amounts up to AED 50,000, MOHRE may issue a legally binding decision. Cases involving higher values, or those where settlement fails, may be transferred to the Labour Court.

During the investigation process, employees remain protected under UAE labour regulations. Wages for up to two months can still be claimed even while the case is active. The employee can also appeal MOHRE’s decision within 15 business days if they believe the outcome was not fair.
