Pfizer Saudi Arabia, Lifera (a PIF company), sign landmark deal to boost local drug manufacturing and biopharma innovation. Announced at the Global Health Exhibition 2025 in Riyadh, this strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will accelerate local drug production, technology transfer, and talent development—reducing import dependency and reinforcing pharmaceutical supply chain resilience throughout Saudi Arabia.​

The Pfizer-Lifera partnership directly supports Saudi Vision 2030 by fostering localization of pharmaceutical manufacturing, enhancing knowledge exchange, and expanding the Kingdom’s capabilities in vaccines, biologics, advanced therapies, and workforce skills. Lifera, launched by the Public Investment Fund, acts as a national contract manufacturer empowering Saudi Arabia to produce essential and innovative biomedical products—including insulins, vaccines, plasma therapeutics, and gene therapies—both through local operations and global partnerships.

Pfizer’s commitment, as highlighted by regional leadership, centers on elevating healthcare quality, advancing technology adoption, and building a robust domestic biopharma sector. This initiative follows a series of recent deals (with companies like Sanofi, Novo Nordisk, and others) positioning Saudi Arabia as the emerging GCC hub for pharmaceuticals, with growing exports, job creation, and technology-driven investments.
